This smoothie is one of my GO-TO green smoothies when I need to revamp my digestion. It’s so light and refreshing and yet extremely satiating because of the protein powder and avocado.
Oftentimes, when my clients are experiencing digestive issues or bloating, I usually advise them to take a little break from eating solid foods and instead have 1 or 2 meals as a smoothie. Since smoothies are blended, part of the digestive process is already broken down before you even eat it.
This helps give your digestive system a little rest from having the extra work of breaking food down. In addition to that, this particular smoothie has ginger and mint, 2 ingredients that improve digestion and ease digestive distress.
1 cup Romaine
1 cup Baby Spinach
1/2 cup Mint Leaves (stem and leaves)
1 tbsp Ginger (raw without skin)
2 tbsps Lemon Juice
½ Pear (Bartlett recommended)
1/4 cup Vanilla Protein Powder
1 cup Water
Blend with ice and enjoy!
